Good to see work being done, Seeing as the new season is around the corner. Would love a 2019 mod, with updated racing point etc, with all the engine contracts being changed etc.

Thank you both, that sponsor module was a beast to write. A lot of logic was required to handle shifting contracts, especially as I'm limited for space in the game executable and with the contracts themselves being fluid in their nature. For instance, supporting the possiblity to have Toyota supply the entire grid with engines, without limiting other possibilities.

Preliminary testing has been positive. In the screenshots below, there are a couple of UI issues when giving every team an engine contract with Hart, as the game only ever expects three contracts per engine supplier, not eleven as demonstrated! But that's just the price to pay for such flexibility. Coincidentally, three teams per supplier is still realistic in today's F1. I successfully managed to swap Winfried to Ferrari and Marrano to Williams, Boss to Minardi and Bossini to McLaren, and confirm alterations to supplier deals and terms, cash values, cash ratings, r&d ratings, active/inactive statuses, supplier attributes and FIA sponsorship. And I presume you can also leave a team with no sponsorship aside from supplier deals, if you really wanted to (i.e. Stewart was always short two sponsors).

In addition to all the sponsorship work, I have now implemented the ability to change the game year, properly. Maybe not a big deal but it was yet another piece of dull monotonous work but very comprehensive and should be 99% perfect (I may explain later).

And the big fish... the ability to toggle the track editor! The track editor is basically an inbuilt tool that allows you to create paths for the cars to follow as they hover over the track photographs. So you can now make you own photographs and paths! I have implemented a warning screen advising when the track editor is enabled so that you dont accidentally lose your game progress if you forget to save prior to proceeding to the race weekend. The corruption seen in the screenshot below is just due to me taking screenshots via DxWnd, so just imagine a proper track photograph in the background. More information to come on track editor usage. Refer to this post a wee while ago that lead to this moment.

Been busy lately, second baby child + studying lots and lots of info about starting my own investment portfolio + the usual job on a daily basis + a couple of other hobbys... but I still follow your progress from time to time :)

That’s huge news! A track editor would be insane, excited about engine edit options too, crazy how much you’ve improved this game

Funny thing is eith new design it’s so hard to win consistently! Used to be 5* designer and you’re in, but could win with 3*, it’s tough now, so much better
